New Sharp Board in Some Classrooms

Several classrooms had new Sharp Interactive Displays installed this year.  These are the Touch Screen Display Board that the district is replacing aging Smart Boards and projectors with.  The Sharp boards are a great tool but they do function differently than the original Smart Boards.  As we have used them, we have found them to be as good, if not better than, the stand-alone Smart Boards.

The biggest drawback we hear is that you can't pick up a different color pen, you have to actually click, or tap the screen, to change the pen color.  One of the best features though is the clarity of the screen, no more faded projector images or shadows interfering with the screen!!  The other feature that teachers seem to really like is that they can use the overlay feature and annotate on any screen, flip to a whiteboard, then right back to the presentation screen without losing any content.

We are here to support you!!  The first thing we will always ask is that you check to make sure the computer connected to the Sharp Board has both the Epic Pen Software and the Sharp Pen Software installed. If this software is not installed, you must put in a SchoolDude request first!  If those two tools are installed on your computer then checking out our webpage specifically for the Sharp Boards is a great place to start. - Sharp Board Webpage  If you don't find what you need there, contact Greg or Christina for additional support.
